One of the best home improvement projects you could plan would be to add value to your garage. The garage flooring is a very important aspect to the entire look and feel of a garage. You might be surprised how much value you can add to your home with a nice decorative garage floor.

There are some very good reasons to add a nice flooring surface to your garage or shop. If you spend allot of time in your garage you may be thinking about the safety factors involved with our garage floor. By simply adding a garage floor mat you can make your garage much safer to walk on and work in.

Garage flooring mats come in many styles and color and can add some nice value to your home. Mats are easy to install and this is a project you can complete on your own without hiring a contractor and a lot of added expenses. The added value can really make a huge divergence if you plan to sell your home in the near future.

If you are more concerned about the wear and tear on your flooring then you may want to consider a sealant type of surface. Again, there are many good ones on the market that you can apply on your own saving you hundreds of dollars. A sealant will help keep stains and other spills from working into the concrete and causing all kinds of damage.

One of the great things about a mat or sealant for your garage flooring is the fact that you can always add a new mat or apply some new sealant every few years. The new look will keep things interesting and safe for you and your family.

You can find many products online, but you may find some good deals at your local home improvement stores. The best time to shop for this type of material is in the off season. Even if you could overwhelm this floor system with the sheer bulk of your man-toys, you’d be backed by a 12 year warranty. My favorite feature is simply a function of the tiles interlocking design. Unlike other floor coatings and coverings, the tiles are inherently portable and reusable. Consider me impressed.

In the comical last 24 hours we have gotten a lot of attention. Apparently an article we wrote attracted a lot of attention. While the information we published was factually accurate and contained documents from reliable sources, we have been asked by two competitors (to each other) to remove the BLOG. While we do not normally cave when we have accurate information, one of the two companies threatened action that would have forced us into a position where we would not be able to maintain our unbiased position. Therefore, for the greater good of the industry we removed information from the BLOG as well as the documents it contained. Requests for these documents will not be honored. What made the situation comical is that we invited both competitors the ability to talk about their companies and get some free PR. American garage Floor Caught in a Lie?
Michael Parker of American Garage Floor makes the claim on his website that "We do not operate several garage flooring sites LIKE OUR COMPETITORS". The garage flooring industry is a relatively small community of entrapenours, contractors and manufacturers. Based on documents obtained from the indiana secretary of states office, Michael Parker is also a principal in Diversified Floor Systems which operates its own website.From a technical standpont Mr. Parker could probably argue that he is telling the truth..... After all American Garage Floor and Divirsified Floor Systems are operated by seperate companies. You as the consumer will have to make the judge as to weather or not claiming not to operate multipmle websites, and then doing so under seperate company names is being truthful.Printout from in.gov

Anti Fatigue Mats for the Garage
One of the calls that always gave me a chuckle would be the garage flooring customers calling and looking for a ?softer? garage floor. Invariably the consumer would be looking for a product that would provide some anti fatigue properties while still being tough enough be the garage. Many consumers would call in looking for a rubber garage mat or the soft flexible tiles like you would put in a kids recreational room. Let me start with the obvious: I do not recommend a soft tile for areas of the garage that are going to be exposed to vehicular traffic. My experience has been that they simply do not hold up. Garage Flooring Tiles I was walking does the aisle of a warehouse grocery store the other day and found a product that they were advertising as garage floor tiles. The price was extremely low and I know the costs of plastics so I got a little curious. I picked up the relatively light box, placed it in my shopping cart and took them home for an inspection. I got the box open and I literally laughed. While the samples of products like Racedeck, Swisstrax and a host of others measured about ½? to the base of the pattern, this stuff was about half as thick. It also had noticeable less gloss and lacked the engineering you would normally see in a product of this type. I tried to flex the product and it literally snapped in half in my hands.
